 Bio & Experience:
  • Jack W. Lunsford is President of The Lunsford Group, a strategic consulting firm, where he specializes and consults in public affairs and government relations, business and government management, economic development and municipal procurement and zoning. Most recently he served as CEO of the Arizona Community College Coordinating Council, a leadership consortium, where he represented the ten community college district chancellors/presidents statewide. At the Council he led the release of the Council’s Economic Impact Study showing a $14 billion statewide economic impact for community colleges.

    A Phoenix native, Jack has more than 40 years experience in the private, public, and non-profit sectors as a co-founder, 1st chairman, and President/CEO of WESTMARC; as Founding Director of the Office of Government Relations and External Affairs for the Maricopa Community Colleges where for 20 years he was the chief policy and political advisor to the Chancellor and Governing Board on federal, state, and local issues; twice as a bank officer; and as a radio station executive. Jack is the former Coconino County Assessor (youngest in state history), has served as an elected member of the West-MEC governing board (a Maricopa County JTED school district), and recently was a Special Assistant for Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton.

    Jack’s areas of expertise include advocacy and coalition building, arts, business management, business property tax, economic development, government operations, municipal procurement, nursing and allied healthcare occupations, P-20 education and transportation. Recently he has added zoning to his portfolio. He was the lead negotiator for Maricopa Community Colleges in its acquisition of the 80-acre site for Paradise Valley Community College from Maricopa County. Jack has testified before the U.S. Congress on veterans’ access to higher education, served as a local and national media spokesperson for a variety of clients and groups, and has produced, directed, and emceed events for 200 – 3,000 attendees. He has also performed in several commercials and industrial films and is a member of the SAG-AFTRA.

    During his career Jack has been appointed by several governors, county elected officials and national organizations to serve as an elected/appointed leader of more than 40 national, state, and local boards, commissions, committees, and task forces on issues ranging from education to transportation and from taxation to governance. In addition to currently serving as chair of the Arizona Investment Council, Jack serves as a board member of the Arizona Small Business Association and the Arizona Highway Users Association; as a member of the Arizona Bioscience Roadmap Steering Committee, the Rodel Foundations Advisory Council and the Arizona Career and Technical Education Quality Skills Commission; and as a member of the Blue Blazer Squadron, an elite group under Fighter Country Partnership dedicated to serving Luke AFB.
