About Legislative District 1

District 1 is located in north-central Arizona. It includes substantial portions of Yavapai County, including Prescott, Prescott Valley and Chino Valley. It also includes parts of northern Maricopa County, including Anthem, New River, Cave Creek, Carefree and portions of Phoenix.

Minorities represent 15.9 percent of the total population and 13.3 percent of the voting age population.

This district includes parts of former legislative districts 1 and 4 in Yavapai County, and 6 and 7 in Maricopa County.
