Funeral plans set for former speaker

Former Speaker of the House Jeff Groscost will be laid to rest later this week, after dying Friday of an apparent heart attack.
The funeral will be Nov. 9 at the Mesa Kimball Stake Center at 11 a.m. The Mesa Kimball Stake Center is located at 1266 S 32nd Street, south of Southern Avenue between Lindsey and Val Vista roads.
A college scholarship fund will be established at Chase Bank for Jeff’s six children. The family requests donations to the fund in lieu of flowers.
Mr. Groscost 45 years old and was first elected to the House in 1992 to represent Mesa and served as speaker for four years, beginning in 1997 when Don Aldridge resigned as speaker.
