Only 17% of voters said the Legislature is doing a good or excellent job, and 43% rated its performance as poor in a new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey. Brewer’s handling of the budget crisis fared only slightly better in the poll – 25% of those survyed said she was doing a good or excellent job. Twenty-one percent (21%) said she was performing poorly. Still, 48% of voters surveyed at least somewhat approved of Brewer’s overall performance, although only 9% strongly approved. Another 48% disapproved of the governor’s performance, with 14% who strongly disapproved. Her ratings were slightly weaker than in May, when 51% approved of her performance.
On the partisan level, slightly more than half (52%) of the Dems surveyed said the governor was doing a poor job handling the budget crisis, while 38% of voters in her party said she was doing poorly. Forty percent (40%) of unaffiliated voters told Rasmussen Brewer was doing a poor job with the budget.
