Napolitano: ‘Best in the World’

U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano has landed on another “best of” list. This time the former Arizona governor, who just last week showed up as one of D.C.’s most datable singles, is featured in the latest issue of Esquire as one of the “75 best people in the world.”

Napolitano is lumped with heavy-hitters like Beyoncé, Warren Buffett, Sacha Baron Cohen, Bill Gates and Lisa Simpson. The article describes the list as a compilation of people who “by virtue of skill or character, make us happy – happy that they’re among us, happy that they do what they do, happy that they’re successful. Each of them possesses exceptional talent, of course, but each also satisfies two special requirements: Would we like to have a drink with this person? And would we trust this person with our puppy?” Who knows how Napolitano is with pets, but the authors write: “She’s wrestling with the biggest mess in government: the Department of Homeland Security. And she has the best smile in the cabinet.”
