At home, Brewer violating constitution

During a press conference today with mayors and civil leaders from across the Valley, Gov. Jan Brewer unveiled efforts to bring the new F-35 fighter-bomber to Luke Air Force Base. And the governor touted the fact that she’s a resident of Glendale, home of Luke.

Brewer said the base was practically in her “backyard” – where she can hear “the sound of freedom” when fighter planes fly by. It was also a reminder that by residing in the West Valley city Brewer is actually in violation of the state constitution, which states: “The officers of the executive department during their terms of office shall reside at the seat of government where they shall keep their offices and the public records, books, and papers.” (Art. 5, Sec. 1)

She’s not the first to ignore the phrase…
