Dear Reader: It amazes me that States can spend money and work together on things that have no revenue potential and reject ideas that can generate income for millions of citizens, because they say they cannot work with other states. Politics as usual! Autism is a problem that states could work together to fund, save millions in healthcare costs, and change the lives of thousands of children. But it must be a WIN for one side or the other, and thus nothing gets done!

If the argument is that the 10th Amendment reserves all power to the states, so that citizens can't be compelled to buy health insurance, then doesn't the same argument apply to Social Security. Under this theory doesn't the 10th Amendment mean that citizens shouldn't be compelled to pay taxes into our Social Security system since the Constitution doesn't specifically authorize Congress to adopt a Social Security system? Do these GOP legislators understand that their long shot litigation will undermine the Social Security system? What would their constituents on Social Security think of that? I doubt that they would be too happy. It is time to think about the consequences of these GOP arguments.

The Republicans are just losers and this strategy of "repeal and replace" is a losing strategy. The Republicans have proved that after 8 years of controlling the house, senate and the presidency that they have NOTHING to replace this bill with. They have no intention of ever seeing the middle class and the poor having access to health care. They'll never get any results from sueing the federal government. The Republicans just have to face the fact that middle class and poor Americans are now going to be able to receive health care against the wishes of the Republican party. I DARE you to try to repeal this bill, I DARE you. Even if the Republicans win a majority in the house and senate in November they'll never get a 2/3 plus majority and Barack Obama will veto every move they make at repealing health care. Ever move the Republicans make is designed to hurt the middle class and the poor, that's why the passage of this bill was so spectacular. The next step we need to make is to bring in a good public option, ideally Medicare for all Americans. This will free Americans from the blood-sucking private insurance companies who exist only to enrich shareholders. Yes, this is a class warfare and we're winning.
