Brewer asks feds for more border security

Gov. Jan Brewer is asking for more federal resources along Arizona’s border with Mexico.

In a letter to President Barack Obama released Tuesday, Brewer says Arizona’s roads and open spaces have become some of the main thoroughfares for illegal immigration traffic and illegal smuggling operations of drugs, weapons and humans.

Brewer is asking for more National Guard troops along the border to boost security and assist U.S. Customs and Border Protection personnel.

Her request is for 250 additional troops to bring the Arizona Joint Counter Narco-Terrorism Task Force to approximately 400 Army and Air National Guard soldiers and airmen.

  1. Wait, she wants more from the federal government? I thought she just got done saying that she wants the federal government to stay out of Arizona’s business (the whole gun thing). She should make up her mind. Wait, why doesn’t she just propose that the entire yahoo state succeed from the Union as the talk goes in Texas. Then she can defend her own sovereign borders.
