Arizona Tax Research Association analyst Justin Olsen resigned to make a bid for a LD 19 House seat, and he has picked up the endorsements of Trent Franks, Chuck Gray and a handful of GOP politicos. His entrance brings a direct challenge to House Speaker Kirk Adams and Adam’s handpicked teammate, Scott Perkinson.
But Olsen said he’s “made it very clear” to Adams that he’s “running for the open seat.” “I anticipate most Republicans will support the incumbent,” said Olsen, who spent three-and-a-half years with ATRA. Olsen said his first priorities as a legislator would be to stop excessive taxation and reinstate fiscal responsibility.
Franks, in a statement, called Olsen an “experienced conservative,” while Gray gave him credit for being an “expert on public finance and the state budget.”
