Brewer gets first vacation

With the 2010 legislative session and Proposition 100 behind her, Gov. Jan Brewer is taking the week off.

Brewer spokesman Paul Senseman said Brewer isn’t actually going anywhere, but is taking a stay-at-home vacation until Memorial Day. He said the time off is Brewer’s first vacation since taking office in January 2009.

“She’s had a little bit of time to get some things done around the house that she hasn’t been able to for quite some time,” Senseman said.

Brewer will be back at work on Monday, May 31, when she plans to speak at Memorial Day ceremonies at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona and the Arizona Veteran Home.
