Kirkpatrick wants 5 debates with GOP challenger

Congresswoman Ann Kirkpatrick is challenging her opponent in the Nov. 2 election to a series of five debates.

The Democrat who represents the 1st Congressional District wants Republican Paul Gosar to meet her for four debates around the sprawling district in September and early October. A televised fifth debate would be set later.

Gosar is a Flagstaff dentist who is making his first foray into politics. He beat seven challengers to win his party’s nomination in Tuesday’s primary election. The district covers northern and eastern Arizona.

  1. If you’ve ever seen Gosar on the stump you would realize why he is ducking Kirkpatrick. Most 5th graders have a better grasp of the big issues than the hapless Flagstaff dentist and his new pal, Mooselini.
