Comments on: Opportunity vs. preferential treatment center of Proposition 107 debate

Having been rejected from a University PhD program because “the only slots left are reserved for minorities,” and then finding out that someone with a GPA nearly half mine was admitted instead, I would like to say please support Prop 107. Racism and sexism is alive and well in AZ, except now it is levelled against white men.
Arizona clearly discriminates against white males, and I find it very disappointing to see groups putting up misleading signs on our streets saying things such as “Create Jobs for AZ, Vote No on 107″ or “Say Yes to Jobs, Vote No on 107″ because they are misleading people into thinking 107 is about a job bill in our hard economic times.
Prop 107 is about ending gender and race discrimination in AZ and giving Caucasian men as much a chance at finding a job or getting into a university program as anyone else.
Let’s give opportunities to those who spent the time working hard and achieving, rather than to people who are born into a skin color or a gender. Keep entrance into programs achievement based, and end racism once and for all.
