Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and Arizona Republican Sen. John McCain had a terse exchange over border security in a Wednesday hearing on terrorism threats.

McCain, R-Ariz., questioned Napolitano’s effectiveness at securing the border and enforcing immigration laws. Napolitano said illegal immigration is down and drug and gun seizures are up.

McCain suggested bringing Cochise County, Ariz. Sheriff Larry Deaver and other “sheriffs Secretary Napolitano says she’s in contact with and … they’ll tell you they have not seen improvement.”

Napolitano countered with names of other Arizona sheriffs who should also testify.

“Let’s get them all up here. Let’s get them all up here. Not just one,” she said talking over McCain.

Sen. Joe Lieberman, I-Conn., ended the exchange by moving from McCain to Republican Massachusetts Sen. Scott Brown.

  1. For the first time in his life, John McCain is 100% correct … We need about 10,000 ARMED Federal Troops stationed along the US/Mexico border …

Janet NaoliReno was incomprtent as US Attorney for Arizona and she holds the record as the MOST incomprtent Arizona Governor EVER ! … So, since birds of a feather flock together, it’s no surprise that the MOST INCOMPETENT US PRESIDENT EVER (Barack Hussein Obama) picked her to be the MOST incompetent Secretary of Homeland Security EVER ! …

WE THE PEOPLE OF ARIZONA want THOUSANDA of ARMED Federal Troops stationed along the US/Mexico border NOW !

  2. Who is going to pay for them and how?? Tax Increase?? Increased Defficit. The reason the border fence wasn’t completed during George’s term was no one wanted to spend the money.
