Arizonans must show ID to vote at polling places

Arizona law requires voters casting ballots at polling places to show identification.

Acceptable identification includes one piece of ID such as a driver’s license that includes the voters’ name, address and photograph. Alternatives include two forms of identification that include the voter’s name and address, such as a utility bill or bank statement.

The Secretary of State’s office says the ID requirement remains in force despite a recent court ruling that struck down the state’s requirement for proof of citizenship to be register to vote. That ruling doesn’t pertain to the requirement for identification to show ID at a polling place.

  1. Thank goodness Arizona continues to be diligent when asking for ID, when voting. Just how many people vote, who should not vote, is anyone’s guess, in other places in the US, on this election day.
