The experience of Chandler and Scottsdale, which shows no spillover effects nor any harm to the adjacent community, are worth noting. I am a resident of Glendale and I am enthusiastically in favor of building the new casino. I think it will bring a new burst of economic growth and jobs to this part of the Valley. What is wrong with a casino, anyway? Is it the old Puritan idea that if anyone, anywhere is having fun something must be wrong in God's world? Pshaw. . It's clear that if this is allowed to happen, any Indian tribe will be able to open up a casino anywhere they want in the state. We need to stop this, or an Indian casino will be coming soon to your community, maybe even your neighborhood. This attempt by the Tohono O’odham tribe and the federal government to stick a casino right in the middle of Glendale is an incredible act of hubris.
