The Gila County Attorney’s Office is declining to prosecute a public corruption case brought by former Maricopa County Attorney Andrew Thomas against Supervisor Mary Rose Wilcox.
Gila County Attorney Daisy Flores said in a letter addressed to Wilcox’s attorney there is insufficient evidence to move the case forward against Wilcox.
The case was handed over to Gila County by Thomas after Wilcox was indicted nearly a year ago on 42 separate felony counts including conflict of interest, perjury, forgery and false swearing.
Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery said Tuesday that absent any additional evidence he’s not planning to request further review of the Wilcox case by outside investigators or prosecutors.
