Yavapai County judge dies

A long-time judge on the Yavapai County bench has died. The Daily Courier reports Judge Thomas Lindberg died Saturday from a brain tumor. He was 58.

Yavapai County Attorney Sheila Polk says Lindberg was a very thoughtful individual. Presiding Yavapai County Judge David L. Mackey says Lindberg worked extremely hard at being a judge.

Lindberg attended the University of Arizona and earned his law degree in 1977.

He was in private practice until 1979 when he went to work for the Tucson City Attorney’s Office.

Lindberg then moved to Prescott in 1981 to take a position as Deputy Yavapai County Attorney.

He was appointed to the bench by then-Gov. Jane Hull in 2000 and successfully ran for the seat in 2002.
