Brewer going to Western governors meeting in Idaho

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer departs her state Tuesday to attend the Western Governors’ Association’s annual meeting being held in Idaho.

Discussion topics include jobs, education, energy supplies and forest health.

Brewer is scheduled to return Friday from the two-day meeting being held in Coeur d’Alene.

Trent Franks announces he is resigning immediately after wife is admitted to hospital

Franks said in a written statement his wife became ill Friday and he decided the best thing for his family would be for his resignation to become effective immediately.
