Phoenix voters must register by Monday to vote in mayoral race

Monday is the last day that Phoenix residents will be able to register to vote in the mayoral and council election next month.

Voters in the election also will decide two ballot measures.

The election is on Aug. 30.

The city will be using voting centers for the first time in the election.

Voters no longer will be required to vote at a specific polling site. Any voter can use any one of the 26 voting centers to cast a ballot.

In addition to Election Day, the voting centers will be open on the Saturday and Monday before the election.
