Gov. Jan Brewer will be a featured speaker at a national Republican women’s event that will include several presidential candidates and members of Congress.

Brewer will speak at the National Federation of Republican Women’s 36th Biennial Convention in Kansas City on Oct. 1. She will speak to about 1,500 Republican women at a morning event.

The federation included Brewer on the cover of the spring 2011 issue of its magazine, Republican Woman, along with three other Republican female governors – Mary Fallin of Oklahoma, Susana Martinez of New Mexico and Nikki Haley of South Carolina.

“We like to invite them and highlight them as much as possible. We’re really proud of them,” said NFRW spokeswoman Lisa Ziriax, who noted that Brewer is a member of the national federation and the Arizona Federation of Republican Women.

The group invited Martinez to speak at the Sept. 29-Oct. 2 convention as well, but the New Mexico governor hasn’t confirmed whether she will attend, leaving Brewer as likely the only governor who will address the group.

In addition to Brewer, the event will feature presidential hopefuls Herman Cain, Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum, along with Missouri Congresswomen Jo Ann Emerson, Vicky Hartzler and Lynn Jenkins.

Less than a week after the Kansas City event, Brewer will speak at an Oct. 6 fundraiser for the Arkansas Republican Party.
