Jay Heiler appointed to Arizona Board of Regents

Gov. Jan Brewer has announced the appointment of Jay Heiler to the Arizona Board of Regents, effective in January.

Heiler will fill the seat currently held by Fred DuVal, whose term is expiring. DuVal was appointed in 2006 to the board that oversees Arizona State University, the University of Arizona and Northern Arizona University.

Heiler was chief of staff for former Gov. Fife Symington in the 1990s. Prior to that, Heiler was an assistant under Arizona Attorney General Bob Corbin.

Since leaving public service in 1997, Heiler has worked as a political consultant in public affairs and strategic communications.

Heiler is a graduate of the ASU School of Law and has been admitted to the State Bar of Arizona, Virginia State Bar and the Federal District Court of Arizona.
