As a lifelong Republican and third generation Arizonian,(and one who voted for Mr. Di Concini), I am embarrased by the Senator not standing up for Arizona and SB1070. Mr. Di Concini made his mark, and was elected three times because he was a law and order candidate. Now to turn his back on his State when it is time to really stand for law and order is embarrasing to him. Patriotic Arizonians know that to have a nation, we must have defensible borders, and have a government that is elected only by those that empower it. Citizens of other nations have no rights to invade the United States and expect to be given rights that belong to the people of the United States. If we can't even uphold laws as simple as immigration and voting rights, what else will we give up?

It was great to see this hearing, who was there and who did not show up -- the vocal proponents of SB1070 who have ruined the state of Arizona and as DeConcini said he is embarrassed for the state of Arizona. We couldn't agree more. This is all about racism, hatred, bigotry and a one-party state that has had control for 4 decades. = tyranny. This has been a reign of terror that the whole world can see and judge for themselves

People were wondering why a former sitting President of the state Senate who was recalled and ousted out of office was even sitting on the panel and asking where was the outspoken Governor who won her position on this. Pearce stated NPR was lying about what they wrote about the private prisons and SB1070. His garbled sound bytes and tired cliches cannot hide the truth. People ARE paying attention. ALEC is pulled out from under the rug. Corporations are pulling out though late to act since much damage has been done with bad laws put in place.

We the People, throughout this nation have made it clear to our Democratic "representatives" that we understand their game plan and won't tolerate it!. So far this "Dems love the illegals" movement has done nothing but strengthen the American people's resolve against ANY illegal alien pandering politician!

Living in the United States is a privilege, not a right for noncitizens. The majority of illegal aliens are from Mexico and other Latin countries, taking “American” jobs, abusing our welfare system, stealing our I.D.'s, and overpopulating our cities. Those who come here illegally, steal our IDs and ignore our laws have already demonstrated they lack the honesty and decency to ever become American citizens. We don't need them here, we don't want them here, period.

A country without secure borders can no more stand than can a house without walls! It is unacceptable that the citizens of this nation be betrayed by their own government especially where border security and the enforcement and administration of our nation's immigration laws are concerned!

Schumer, Durbin and many other illegal alien pandering politicians need to be removed from office as they do not represent nor work for We the People.

Why don't the Democrats and all those who approve of our country being invaded tell the truth? Why don't they at least be honest and say, "We really don't care about these people, we just want the vote of those who are pro-illegal and American businesses want cheap labor.

[...] On a day when one of the nation’s most prolific lens tics decided to propose a law as preposterous as his political career, there was a Senate hearing ostensibly designed to explore the constitutional implications of SB 1070. In reality, it was a transparent attempt by Democrats to influence the Supreme Court, as the Arizona Capitol Times points out in a lengthy recap of the hearings. [...]
