The Arizona Commerce Authority will announce its new president and CEO at its May 18 board meeting.
ACA spokeswoman Kristen Hellmer said a replacement for outgoing CEO Don Cardon has not yet been selected. The May 18 meeting was a regularly scheduled quarterly meeting, Hellmer said, and was not scheduled to announce the new CEO.
Hellmer would not say who the candidates for the position are. The search, which is being conducted by the Chicago-based firm DHR International’s Phoenix office, began after Cardon announced his pending departure at an ACA meeting in January.
“The new CEO will be named at the May 18th board meeting,” Hellmer said. “As far as I am aware, a final recommendation has not yet been made.”
Cardon will continue working with the ACA for a transitional period after the new CEO is hired.
The upcoming ACA meeting was originally scheduled for May 22. Hellmer said it was moved up due to scheduling conflicts with board members.
