HUD awards $1M for Arizona housing discrimination

Federal officials are awarding $1 million in grants to help Arizonans who have been victims of housing discrimination.

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development announced Friday that two organizations will receive funds to aid people in Arizona with fair housing.

The competitive grants are provided by HUD’s Fair Housing Initiatives Program. The money is to help investigate allegations of discrimination and to educate housing providers.

The funds are part of $41 million that has been distributed around the country.
