Maricopa County’s early voter list tops 1 million

More than half of the 1.9 million registered voters in Arizona’s most populous county are now signed up to automatically receive ballots for early voting.

Maricopa County Recorder Helen Purcell says just over 1 million voters are now listed in the election department’s permanent early voting file.

The permanent early voting file was created in November 2007 and has grown from 180,000 requests.

Voters not on the permanent list to automatically receive early voting ballots can request early voting ballots election by election.
