Ableser didn’t miss a single vote where he was needed to break a tie. His absences were mostly due to his wife’s pregnancy and a little bit to writing his doctoral thesis. Encouraging Jerry Lewis to be mindful of children will be close to impossible when he will vote with the GOP caucus on harmful budgets that cut public ed and health care and bad ideas like TABOR.

And I continue to be astonished by the notion that the solution to quelling the radical reactionary extremism of the GOP in Arizona lies in electing MORE Republicans. Sure, allow them to continue to control every committee in both houses, with an even larger veto-proof majority. That’s just the ticket! Because, right, the more moderate-seeming ones will “influence” the others. Boy, that’ll sure put Cathi Herrod and those Goldwater Institute lobbyists in their places!

Senator Jerry Lewis removed from office Russell Pearce, who was not a champion of children. We believe that Senator Jerry Lewis will support children and their education. We would rather have a Senator who is present when critical votes are taken than one who cannot be found. Encouraging Jerry Lewis to be mindful of children at all times, is a challenge, but then it will be a challenge regardless of party affiliation. Vote for Jerry! Though I am a Democrat, I know intent and courage when I see it in Jerry Lewis.
