Arpaio critics disrupt county supervisors meeting

There were no arrests but the Arizona Republic reports that Chairman Max Wilson recessed the meeting Wednesday because of the protests, which included reading prepared speeches criticizing Arpaio and his department’s jail operations.
The newspaper reports that at one point security officers forced journalists who were observing the protest into a designated area away from the supervisors’ podium.
The meeting did not resume.
The proposed settlement would be paid to the family of Debra Braillard, a jail inmate who died after not receiving proper medical care while in detention in a county jail.
