Why did you do get the Federal stimulus money which is being used to mass incarcerate Arizona’s people? $50,000,000 plus $17,900,000? And allow a mortgage foreclosure settlement money (intended for homeowners – ($50,000,000.00) to go to more new prisons of 2,000 beds — for private prison corporations (CCA) — that Arizona does NOT need?

Senator McCain, At a Goodyear Town Hall where you spoke about the Federal stimulus money, you said you would look into it since you were unaware of this. We never heard back.

Growing the mass industrial prison complex with private corporation prisons is an unethical and immoral “business” model. Who profits from all this as ALL taxpayers are at risk for harm, as potential customers for a ravenous corporation looking for bodies? If the state is going to charge people and send them to prison, then THEY have the responsibility for those in their state, NOT inmates from other states. The state should NOT wash their hands of their responsibility for the inmates they created.
