Where are the committees on Sentencing reform, criminal justice system reform, prison reform? It is unacceptable that the state favors incarceration or education.

The mass incarceration of Arizona's people is shameful. Using outdated, draconian mandatory minimum sentencing has failed the people and the taxpayers. Other conservative states have reformed sentencing laws and saved the taxpayers millions. Of course the profiteers do not want reform and it appears they "control" the state. The taxpayers cannot sustain this.

Many citizens were participated in the House Rep. Cecil Ash's Sentencing Committee, open to the public. With all sides represented. The information that was presented showed a need for ongoing dialog and serious reform, if the people / taxpayers' voices are to be considered.

Rep. Cecil Ash will be greatly missed this year. Who is taking over his large body of work?
