Bipartisan group proposes Arizona immigration plan

A bipartisan group of business and community leaders has proposed a four-point immigration plan for Arizona.

The Real Arizona Coalition is calling for a broader approach toward immigration that takes into account the contributions of illegal immigrants and the labor needs of businesses while continuing to focus on border and immigration enforcement.

The Arizona Republic says the group unveiled its plan Wednesday.

The coalition is comprised of more than 40 businesses groups, religious organizations, and minority and immigrant advocacy groups.

The Republic says backers of the proposed plan include Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery, Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton and retired U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor.
