Before taking a stand against allowing legal concealed carry in public schools, everyone should review the Lott and Landes study "Multiple Victim Public Shootings" from Yale and the University of Chicago Law Schools to see what the statistics say. This is readily available on the internet. Their study results were both surpising and dramatic, in their words, and identified only one policy factor that made a significant difference.
We should also look at what has happened in Utah since they eliminated their "Gun Free Zones" around public schools and now allow licensed concealed carry in these schools. They have seen no massive arms race and certainly do not consider this to have been extremist legislation. Only time will tell if any unintended consequesnces arise that negate the intended benefit of reducing the probablility and severity of a multiple victim school shootings in Utah.
