I happened to attend this rally on Tuesday. Perhaps if you had, you would have had to notice that there were plenty of women. 3 of the main speakers were woman and several life-champion legislators attended as well. It is insulting to women everywhere when you claim to speak for all of us portraying all women as reasoning with only our reproductive organs. I am sick of intelligent, pro-life women being insulted in this way. Try and use your God-given faculties of thought and see if you recognize that you are doing the same thing you've accused your adversaries (men) of doing. "Reasoning from below the belt." Most women, like me, are whole, complex beings with values, intelligence and wisdom gained from education, life experience and God-given instincts. Give credit where credit is due. You do have a choice; think about the pre-born women yet to come and give them the same choices your parents have given you, post-birth.
Respectfully yours, KW

Bill Montgomery is seeking fair justice for the unborn. Maybe it's difficult for those who don't want to admit to themselves that abortion is the destruction of a human being. 50 million think about it 50 million since Roe vs Wade. Have you ever watched an abortion? Probably not. It's easier to say you are for something when you don't have to actually view it. Torn limbs, sucked out brains, destroyed babies in the womb. Oh is this too graphic to read. Google abortion pictures and see if you still feel that those babies don't need someone to stand up for them. I'm glad Bill Montgomery shows that he values life in all realms. Those that commit crimes should be in jail. They make as you all say "CHOICES" Those choices got them where they are. Those that commit and endorse the killing of innocent babies should be sitting next to them. That would be my choice.

Arizona leading in saving lives of the unborn? Really? Then once they are born working to destroy their rights and their lives. Wake up folks. When Arizona favors incarceration over education (state budgets) then the mixed message is very hypocritical. Destroying innocent lives of men, woman and children and throwing them into Arizona's mass industrial prison complex is shameful.

It's time for DA's / County Attorneys to be appointed instead of elected. In Arizona, these elected prosecutors have politicized "justice" and compromised its integrity. Fair justice coming from the MCAO with a long history of abuse of power?

I suggest that Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery (top prosecutor) spend his time doing his job as seeking fair justice for the people, men, women and children of Maricopa County.

Why hasn't MCAO Montgomery investigated the over 200,000 'felony" cases under one term in office of the disgraced, disbarred former MCAO Andrew Thomas and his disbarred chief "charging" prosecutor, ex-DCA Lisa Aubuchon? Cases done under a pattern of abuse of power, false allegations, witch-hunts and more -- for the wrongfully convicted, those who have claims of innocence that have been ignored by the MCAO for years under Thomas / Aubuchon and now Montgomery? Do what other DA's / County attorneys have done around the country, investigating, releasing and exonerating the innocent.

Recently, Arizona's exoneree, Ray Krone celebrated 10 years since his exoneration. A shameful chapter in the history of the Maricopa County Attorney's office and all those who worked to keep him silenced in Arizona's hell-hole prisons. The then-MCAO Romley said at the state Legislature, "we have to do better next time". Did Romley mean better to keep an innocent man silenced in prison or better at getting the innocent OUT of prison? MCAO Bill Montgomery needs to lift the lid of "Arizona's Pandora's Box" that has destroyed thousands of innocent lives, their families, their children's lives and their future, leaving the taxpayers for the devastating consequences they will have to pay for.

ALL are at risk in Arizona to get thrown into their broken, outdated, draconian criminal justice system where the private prison corporation profiteers lead the way. This is the public's issue.

The mass incarceration of Arizona's men, women and children is far more critical than Roe v Wade, since most women have been on birth control pills for decades.

Reporters, lets write about this. That would be a greater public service.

Christina Silvestri, Where are the women's voices in this column? Maricopa County Attorney (chief prosecutor) does not speak for the many women in this state and especially NOT on the issue of Roe v Wade, a deeply person issue for women and their doctors.

GOP Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery is first and foremost an elected government official, who is elected to carry on the outdated, backwards-thinking policies of the AZ GOP. One can't get elected in the GOP without following the ideology of their party.

Republicans says they do NOT want government "controlling" their lives. Well, we the people couldn't agree more. The government doesn't belong in our bedrooms or personal lives. The "old" men that dominate the GOP who know nothing about science or womens' health issues and come from an era where women were kept in the "closet", couldn't speak or had to get permission from their husbands to have surgery, do NOT speak for most women. The young women are horrified to hear issues that were decided long before they were born.

MCAO Montgomery is not a credible voice on women's issues unless he wants to continue down the path of silencing the women, taking their children away and throwing them in prison. The alarming path of how poorly women and children are treated is well-worn in Arizona, a shameful history.

A state that favors incarceration over education, a state with the highest percentage of incarcerating women in the West, a state that does not support early education and preventive health care for children, a state that does not help education young women to prevent unwanted pregnancies, a state that doesn't want to take care of the babies once they are born is a state that spews pure hypocrisy.

Or is the state birthing babies, taking babies away, to be used for Federal $$$'s and future slaves for the school-to-prison pipeline that is growing at an alarming rate and the mass industrial prison industry?

Time to move forward into better policies for the future.
