The point is that guns made in Arizona are in competition with guns made in other states, and thus they affect interstate commerce. By the way, where did the federal government get the power to regulate abortion? Is there is no limit to federal poower? We expect our government to develop public policies that protect constitutional rights, but to also pass laws that protect the lives of its citizens. While some citizens are able and willing to own guns and use them for their own protection, there are even more that depend on elected officials to establish laws that will protect the citizens who elected them to office. Finding the balance is what legislators were elected to do. They were not elected to fight with the federal government or use taxpayer dollars to do so. Do the work that is necessary to make sure that all citizens, including gun owners, are protected. The constitutional right to bear arms is what Americans believe in. We expect our government to develop public policies that protect constitutional rights, but to also pass laws that protect the lives of its citizens.
