It’s really great how oil, coal, natural gas, and nuclear were able to become viable fuel sources completely through private initiative and with absolutely no government subsidies. Especially nuclear, which we all know is the John Galt of fuel sources.

With “logic” like this, we are doomed.

How about saying “They are going to meet the goal we set early – we need to set a higher goal.” You can’t keep putting the carrot in the horses mouth and expect it to tempt the horse to run faster.

Some day solar power may be viable–today and into the foreseeable future it is not.
Today it cannot survive with out subsidies and drives up the cost of electricity for the end users. Congrats to the Commission for recognizing this and also taking note of other countries where solar has been a dismal failure. Rate payers and taxpayers should note be saddled with the experimental costs of this questionable source of power for the base load requirements of Arizona.
