The White House says first lady Michelle Obama’s guests for the State of the Union address Tuesday evening include two Arizonans : Avondale Mayor Marie Lopez Rogers and 12-year-old Haile Thomas of Tucson.

The White House says Rogers grew up in migrant farm camps and picked cotton alongside her parents in fields in the Phoenix suburb where she’s now mayor.

Haile is co-founder of a non-profit that works to improve health and wellness of young people.
