PHOENIX (AP) — Arizona Congressman Paul Gosar will be in Kingman on Friday for the grand opening of his district office.

He also plans to hold a news conference on his legislation to seek compensation and recognition of Mohave County residents suffering from weapons testing radiation.

Gosar says he will outline his bill to protect county residents known as “downwinders,” who may suffer from radiation poisoning from nuclear tests conducted in the 1950′s and early 1960′s.

County supervisors Gary Watson and Joy Brotherton along with representatives of the Downwinders of Mohave County organization will be among those expected to attend the 4:30 p.m. news conference.
