We hope that legislators can see through this type of legislation, but may not due to their "own interests. When an elected official, like Sheriff Arpaio and Pearce, are not performing and have lost the trust of Arizonans, we as voters should have the obligation and responsibility to remove them. For example, Arpaio and all sheriff's are exempt by state statutes from meetings Professional Training Standards that all other law enforcement and correctional officers must meet to be certified in law enforcement. This statute should be looked at and changed to assure competence and performance. Arpaio jeopardized and impacted the lives of children by not protecting them. What more do you need to assure he can be removed from office. Sheriff's should not be above the law, elected or not. Especially because they directly impact the safety of citizens. Retroactive to protect Arpaio....Come on! Do something to protect our children!
Give child sex crimes bill a hearing too!
