Phoenix council OKs Child Exploitation Task Force

child-abuse-620The Phoenix City Council has voted unanimously to approve an agreement with the FBI supporting the Child Exploitation Task Force.

Council members voted on the $65,000-a-year project on Wednesday.

They say the task force’s mission is to provide rapid, proactive and intelligence driven investigative response to the sexual victimization of children as well as other crimes against children.

Councilman Jim Waring is chairing the task force, which is aimed at ending sex-trafficking in the city.

Gov. Jan Brewer also highlighted the issue in her State of the State address on Monday.

  1. A clause should be put in for the politicians / profiteers (the “child-savers”), who exploit the children as well, since millions have been spent for decades and where did it go? Certainly not to help the children and families in need.
