Martin’s wife died from ruptured tumor; funeral set (access required)

Kerry Martin, the wife of state Treasurer Dean Martin, died due to a ruptured tumor in her liver. The Maricopa County Medical Examiner's Office said a hepatic adenoma, a type of rare benign tumor of the liver, ruptured during childbirth on May 25, causing massive internal bleeding, according to the Yellow Sheet Report. The Martins' newborn son, Austin Michael Martin, died two days later.

Interim director out at Commerce (access required)

Kent Ennis is out as interim director at the Arizona Department of Commerce. Paul Senseman, a spokesman for Gov. Jan Brewer, told the Arizona Capitol Times in an email on May 28 that Ennis was no longer serving as director. He did not say why Ennis was out as director or whether he was still with the department. He served as deputy director before taking over as interim director in January.
