Ducey appoints Tobin to Corp Comm (access required)

The governor made the appointment a day after the regulators met to elect Commissioner Doug Little as interim chairman. Tobin will replace Commissioner Susan Bitter Smith when her resignation becomes effective on January 4th.

Ducey names Tobin as Department of Insurance director (access required)

Gov. Doug Ducey named former House Speaker Andy Tobin as the next director of the Arizona Department of Insurance. The longtime insurance company owner has served since January as the director of the Arizona Department of Weights and Measures. He helped shepherd through a Ducey-proposed bill to abolish the agency and shift its various duties to other departments. The Department of Weights and Measures is scheduled to phase out next year.
