Elections have consequences. So opponents of gay marriage worry that voter approval of the practice would encroach on religious liberties, undermine parental rights and devalue marriage as the founding block of society.
Arizona abortion facilities increased slightly since 2010 despite restrictive laws
Despite a recent decline, there are more licensed abortion clinics in Arizona now than in 2010, when licensing requirements took effect and the Legislature passed tougher abortion restrictions.
The bill moratorium that rankled lawmakers as Gov. Jan Brewer started applying pressure to pass her Medicaid expansion plan helped push her to a near-record number of vetoes in 2013.
Brewer vetoed 26 bills this year, the second highest total of her career, behind the 29 she rejected in 2011.
