Interpreters for Maricopa County often sit idle

Late in 2009, the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors began having an interpreter at their meetings, in response to a federal inquiry into the county's potential civil-rights violation for failing to provide an interpreter at public meetings for people who speak limited English. Babeu completes 6-month probe of MCSO

Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu says a six-month investigation into alleged misconduct by the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office has been completed. However, Babeu says his office is prohibited by law from releasing any details of the probe.
