Issues:
Political influence: My dad, because of strength of character, accomplishments and level-headed philosophy.
Budget recommendations: There are $10B of tax loopholes, some of which are giveaways that we cannot afford right now. Many budgets were not zero-based because they were escalations of prior year expenditures and they should be zero-based at the cost center level by those who really know the needs. In my opinion there could be more transparency in budget detail. Other concerns: Job development and restoration of funding to healthcare and education, while at the same time putting forth efforts to make education affordable and accessible, particularly to those in rural areas.
Fiscal philosophy: “E.A.R.,” which is my acronym for efficiency, accountability and responsiveness in a government which serves its people. Background & experience: I have 19 years of continuing service as a Salvation Army Unit extension director, 20 years as a successful business owner and extensive business background including chamber of commerce vice president and board member. I was proud to be recognized for my years of service when I became Citizen of the Year.
Proposition 100 sales tax: In light of the fact that other options on the table were not even considered, our only revenue option seems to be that of a temporary sales tax.
Pro-life/pro-choice: [Abortion] is and should remain a patient-doctor choice.
One last thing: In the past, I have endured hard times and know the value of a dollar just like many of the voters. Arizona’s future is my future, and that of my family and grandchildren. It is my intention to do all I can for the people of this state.
Campaign Finance: public.
