Political influence: George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.
Budget recommendations: If anybody had that answer they’d be running for governor. Until you get in and review the financial picture it’s pretty difficult. I’d look at consolidation of agencies, and look at overall core responsibilities of state government and making sure they’re adequately funded. Realistically, we need to look at a whole new tax structure for the state.
Other concerns: Education infrastructure — making sure we maintain it. The other area is public safety.
Fiscal philosophy: I’m truly a fiscal conservative. I’m also realistic.
Background & experience: As a former lawmaker, I’m keenly aware of the issues facing the state.
Proposition 100 sales tax: It’s a moot point. It doesn’t matter if you do or not. The voters have spoken.
Pro-life/pro-choice: I’m opposed to [abortion].
Campaign Finance: private.
