Political experience: Town Council service, nine years; Parks and Recreation Commission; School Planning Commission; Board of Health; Senior Services Board; AZ House since 2007.

Memberships have included: American Legion; Academy of Criminal Justice Studies.

Interests: Basketball, reading and travel.

Issues:

Political influence: Ronald Reagan. He was a solid conservative who communicated and advanced the conservative cause well.

Budget recommendations: Cut taxes to stimulate the economy, more targeted program reduction and debt refinancing.

Other concerns: Illegal immigration continues to plague Arizona and education, specifically, raising the test scores of students.

Fiscal philosophy: I am a limited government, fiscal conservative.

Background & experience: I have been interested and active in politics since high school. In addition, I was a police officer for 20 years. I also earned a master’s degree in government and a PhD in criminal justice. Thus my academic knowledge and real world experience help me.

Prop. 100 sales tax: I oppose it because I feel it will harm the economy and it is no longer tied to job producing tax reductions in the future.

Pro-life/pro-choice: I am pro-life and believe abortion should only be legal to save the life of the mother.

One last thing: Legislators make decisions on many more issues than those covered in this questionnaire. Consequently, a big factor in deciding whom to vote for is the candidate him or herself. Specifically, the candidate’s character, critical thinking skills, experience, education and track record are important factors to consider. I believe that I score well on these factors.

Campaign Finance: public.
