Geographic Description of Legislative District 3

This district forms the northwest boundary of the state, encompassing almost all of Mohave County (one Mohave County voting precinct is on the Hualapai Reservation and lies in District 2), most of the northern half of La Paz County, and all of the area north of the Colorado River (including 6 precincts that are in Coconino County). The boundary line in La Paz County between District 3 and District 24 generally follows US-60 from the Maricopa County line (with cutouts for Salome and Wendon which are drawn in District 24 to the south) to the junction with I-10 at Milepost 31. From there, the district boundary follows I-10 until just east of Quartzsite, where it dips south to the northeast corner of the Yuma Proving Grounds. The line then goes north through the Dome Rock Mountains and follows the eastern boundary of the Colorado River Indian Reservation (which is in District 24). The line meets the state boundary at the Colorado River, north of Parker.
