About Legislative District 6

This district has the sixth-smallest Hispanic population in the state, and it is the eighth-least ethnically diverse district. It is in the top half of districts in terms of highest proportion of military veterans and the top third of districts in terms of average per-capita income. GOP registration has declined more than six percentage points since 2002 to 42 percent from 48 percent. Republicans still enjoy a
15 percentage point advantage over Democrats, who have fallen to third in voter registration behind those not affiliated with either major party. This district has the sixth-largest Republican voter registration advantage in the state.
