Democratic Rep. Raul Grijalva had a lead of nearly 3 percentage points the day after the election, and he declared victory in Arizona’s 7th Congressional District.
“The reason is all the outstanding votes are in Pima County, and Pima County is a Democrat stronghold,” Grijalva spokesman Adam Sarvana said.
Grijalva leads Republican challenger Ruth McClung by about 3,500 votes, with an unknown number of late-arriving absentee votes still to be counted.
McClung’s spokesman said she’s not going anywhere until election officials finish their work.
“She won’t be conceding until all those votes are counted,” spokesman Sam Stone said.
Ruth McClung is an american hero. Please stay around, Ruth. Your country needs you.
amazing, the guy who wanted his own state to be boycotted…was able to garnish one vote……i hope during the recount…they verify the voter’s eligibility…grijalva is part of the corrupt democratic machine and i’m sure he’d have no problem with the illegals voting…..what a creep…..
Guess we need to boycott Pinal, Pima, and Santa Cruz counties.
Grijalva is a worthless, dysfunctional representative. During no less than 14 attempts to contact him either at his offices in AZ or in DC, I have been unable to contact him or any of his staff via telephone. His voice mail box at both locations is constantly full, and so I am unable to even leave a voice message. I can’t imagine I’m the only constituent that’s left high and dry by this worthless Congressman. On the other hand, the one time I did receive a communication from the Congressman via e-mail, he failed to address any of the concerns over the issue that I voiced. Instead, all I got was a form letter that told me the Congressman’s general position on the issue. Of course, maybe he just didn’t understand me because I sent him my questions and concerns in English. I wish Ms. McClung the best during the count/recount, and I second the concern that a statistically significant percentage of the votes received may be from illegitimate voters. Let’s get rid of this waste of a Congressman and get some real representation for AZ’s 7th.
Well, they gave grijalva a a run for his money.
This man, who had the utter audacity to call for a
boycott of his own state, just barely won reelection.
Perhaps this will send him a strong message.
These are your consitutuents and citizens of AZ.
It was pure folly to call a boycott on one’s own
electors.
Meanwhile, at the national level, looks like “comprehensive immigration reform” (i.e., amnesty) will be blocked by the House – unless the Republicans cave to the Chamber of Commerce K street lobby :0
