There's reportedly a settlement in a lawsuit filed on behalf of a Coconino County woman who wants to wear a tea party T-shirt when going to vote on Nov. 2.

A federal magistrate plans to hold a hearing Wednesday in a Phoenix courtroom on whether to order Coconino County election officials to allow a woman to wear a tea party T-shirt to polls on Nov. 2.

A Phoenix-based conservative think tank has filed a federal lawsuit to ensure voters get to wear their tea party T-shirts at the polls.

Former lawmaker Steve May announced Sept. 13 he is terminating his campaign for the House in Legislative District 17. May got on the November ballot after winning a spot in the primary as a write-in candidate. His presence as a Republican in the swing district that spans Tempe and Scottsdale posed a threat to two Democratic challengers.

The openly gay former lawmaker gained recent headlines for his brazen acknowledgement that he helped four "street people" get on the ballot as Green Party candidates.

Less than a day after a federal judge said they had the right to stay on the ballot, three alleged "sham" Green Party candidates withdrew from their races.

The Arizona Green Party is asking a federal judge for an injunction that would keep a slate of alleged Trojan horse candidates off the ballot in November. The lawsuit, filed Sept. 7 in U.S. District Court by a Democratic-tied firm names 11 Green Party candidates who were also the subject a complaint filed by the Arizona Democratic Party the prior week.

A judge has ruled that a referendum on secret ballots cannot be decided at the November election.
