Janet Napolitano
Like last month’s general election, it was a three-way race. And like last month’s general election, Governor Napolitano won. She outdistanced former Gov. Fife Symington by a two-to-one margin and left the late Jack Williams a distant third.
Shilo Mitchell, a spokeswoman for Ms. Napolitano, says, “The governor is truly grateful that readers of Arizona Capitol Times have recognized the accomplishments made in the past four years. She believes that together, with Arizonans, the governor has taken positive steps in renewing our schools, building a better economy, being a good steward of our water and land, increasing the availability of health care, and improving the security of our state. These are the governor’s goals for Arizona, and during the governor’s next term she will continue to seek the support of Arizonans.”
